Tour Overview

Meet your professional local guide and driver at your Salzburg hotel and hop on board of your luxury minivan. Afterward, your journey will take you on beautiful backroads to the Obersalzberg Region. Visit the Berghof ruins, Hotel zum Tuerken, and Obersalzberg to learn more about the history of the region. Hitler’s formerly mountain retreat at the Obersalzberg was the Berghof, which is situated at a height of 3000 feet. Nazis utilized the Hotel zum Tuerken, which is located not far from Hitler’s Berghof. The Hotel zum Tuerken is now privately owned. Enjoy a personalized guided tour of the Eagle’s Nest. From the Eagle’s Nest bus stop, a specially prepared mountain bus will take you up the picturesque 4-mile road with a 27% gradient to a rock plateau. From there, a 407-feet tunnel leads to the original World War II brass elevator, which carries you another 407 feet through the mountain-range of the ‘Kehlstein’ to the Eagle’s Nest itself. You will have some free time after touring the Eagle’s Nest to enjoy the landscape or have a beverage.
We continue our descent from Obersalzberg to the beautiful Bavarian mountain town of Berchtesgaden and on to Lake Königssee. Lake Königssee is known for its bright green water and striking mountain scenery. After a short photo stop, you will be driven back to Berchtesgaden. You will have 1 1/2 hours time to explore Berchtesgaden on your own and eat lunch in one of the traditional Bavarian restaurants (lunch is not included in the price). The Berchtesgaden salt mine, which has been in operation since 1517, is the next highlight. Visitors dressed as miners enjoy rides on the train, raft, and slides! After eight hours of exploring the Eagle’s Nest, Berchtesgaden, Kings Lake, and the Salt Mines all in one day, your private tour will conclude with drop-off at your Salzburg City hotel.

Wonderful What a wonderful tour! Patrick is a wealth of information about the area. We stopped at a number of places to take pictures of the most gorgeous scenery on the way to Hallstatt. He made a reservation at a lovely restaurant in Hallstatt where we ordered traditional Austrian food. Patrick took care of every detail. He was so easy to talk to and was eager to answer all our questions and offered recommendations of places in Salzburg to eat. Great private tour

Immersive & Engaging Started with a no fuss booking with Manfred who gave the good advise to start at 9am rather than 10am to capture as much daylight. Patrick our guide was fun, informative and accomodative. Took us to local detours to see a waterfall and gave us lots of little tips along the way. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend This was a wonderful experience for our group of 6! Patrick kindly stopped at several beautiful lake view photo ops along the way before we went to the salt mine (entry fee not included) and Hallstat. Everyone had fun at the salt mine, and we enjoyed a nice meal overlooking the lake thanks to Patrick's recommendation in Hallstat, a charming little town. The door-to-door service from our Salzburg hotel was fantastic.

Perfect Day Trip From Munich Outstanding!!! Patrick was the perfect guide. We were staying in Munich, Patrick is based in Salzburg and drove to Munich to pick us up (that’s how this tour works), so we had a Salzburg expert taking us around Salzburg. We picked the return train option for the end of the day, and Patrick walked us into the station, bought the tickets, and guided us to the platform to return to Munich. Honestly the train return was best as we slept. This is the perfect Munich day trip! Patrick is a rock star tour guide.

Excellent trip The view was amazing and I think we have the best time of the year for the trip. At beginning of the October colors of the trees were amazing. I stayed two days in Salzburg Austria at Hous am Moss, Cleanness of the place and relaxed atmosphere were amazing. Helpful owners even arrange an early breakfast so we could catch the plane from Munich. Thank you

Sound of Music/Lake District/Hallstatt Not sure if this was the same tour we were on, but we had Patrick as our guide and Manfred as our driver for this personal Sound of Music tour on our way to Hallstatt. It was the highlight of our trip to Austria! We decided while visiting our daughter, who was studying abroad in Vienna, to visit Salzburg as well. My husband got us this tour and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!! We have so many pictures, I can't add all of them. Patrick provided so much detail and insight into Austria for us! It was wonderful.I highly recommend!!
