Tour Overview

Meet your professional local guide at your Salzburg hotel and hop on board of your luxury minivan. Afterward, your journey will take you on a scenic route to the Obersalzberg Region. Dive deeper into the area’s history with a visit to the Obersalzberg and the Berghof ruins. The Berghof, located at 3000 ft elevation, was Hitler’s former mountain residence at the Obersalzberg.

From the Obersalzberg you will access the Eagle’s Nest with special busses and elevator. You will have 2 hours at the Eagle’s Nest. Take a stroll to the very close summit Kehlstein to overlook the picturesque Bavarian and Austrian Alps. From November 1st, 2020 until about May 10th, 2021 (depends on the snow conditions of the year), the Eagle’s Nest direct access road is closed alternatively, we offer to visit the Rossfeld summit instead. From this vantage point, soak in panoramic views of the stunning Austrian and Bavarian Alps and the nearby Eagle’s Nest. Feel free to choose this option also when Eagle’s Nest is opened if you prefer a much less crowded, more local site than the Eagle’s Nest.

The Castle of Werfen is one of the most magnificent mountain fortifications in the Alps and was also used in the “Where Eagle’s Dare” movie with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. It was the castle of Werfen which was used as Eagle’s Nest, not the original location at the Bavarian Alps. Enjoy some good Austrian lunch right at the castle before you will marvel at the bird-of-prey show conducted by historic State Falconers, mainly featuring native free-flying raptors!

After eight hours exploring the Eagle’s Nest and the Where Eagle’s Dare Castle of Werfen, your Full Day Eagle’s Nest Private Tour will conclude with drop-off at your Salzburg City hotel or any other location in Salzburg.

Wonderful What a wonderful tour! Patrick is a wealth of information about the area. We stopped at a number of places to take pictures of the most gorgeous scenery on the way to Hallstatt. He made a reservation at a lovely restaurant in Hallstatt where we ordered traditional Austrian food. Patrick took care of every detail. He was so easy to talk to and was eager to answer all our questions and offered recommendations of places in Salzburg to eat. Great private tour

Immersive & Engaging Started with a no fuss booking with Manfred who gave the good advise to start at 9am rather than 10am to capture as much daylight. Patrick our guide was fun, informative and accomodative. Took us to local detours to see a waterfall and gave us lots of little tips along the way. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend This was a wonderful experience for our group of 6! Patrick kindly stopped at several beautiful lake view photo ops along the way before we went to the salt mine (entry fee not included) and Hallstat. Everyone had fun at the salt mine, and we enjoyed a nice meal overlooking the lake thanks to Patrick's recommendation in Hallstat, a charming little town. The door-to-door service from our Salzburg hotel was fantastic.

Perfect Day Trip From Munich Outstanding!!! Patrick was the perfect guide. We were staying in Munich, Patrick is based in Salzburg and drove to Munich to pick us up (that’s how this tour works), so we had a Salzburg expert taking us around Salzburg. We picked the return train option for the end of the day, and Patrick walked us into the station, bought the tickets, and guided us to the platform to return to Munich. Honestly the train return was best as we slept. This is the perfect Munich day trip! Patrick is a rock star tour guide.

Excellent trip The view was amazing and I think we have the best time of the year for the trip. At beginning of the October colors of the trees were amazing. I stayed two days in Salzburg Austria at Hous am Moss, Cleanness of the place and relaxed atmosphere were amazing. Helpful owners even arrange an early breakfast so we could catch the plane from Munich. Thank you

Sound of Music/Lake District/Hallstatt Not sure if this was the same tour we were on, but we had Patrick as our guide and Manfred as our driver for this personal Sound of Music tour on our way to Hallstatt. It was the highlight of our trip to Austria! We decided while visiting our daughter, who was studying abroad in Vienna, to visit Salzburg as well. My husband got us this tour and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!! We have so many pictures, I can't add all of them. Patrick provided so much detail and insight into Austria for us! It was wonderful.I highly recommend!!
