Start your sightseeing day with the castle Leopoldskron. Admire the view of the lake, castle, and fortress in the background. Leopoldskron was used as the von Trapp family home in Sound of Music.
Your next stop will be Hellbrunn Palace. The prince archbishops of Salzburg used it as a place for celebration, pleasure, and rehabilitation. And you can see the Sound of Music Gazebo (16 going 17) in the park of the Palace Hellbrunn.
After a short drive from Salzburg, you’ll reach the castle of Fuschl. Capture a picture of the castle with the emerald-green Lake Fuschlsee as its backdrop, before heading on to St. Gilgen with Lake Wolfgang, the next photo stop.
The next Sound of Music location is waiting for you the St. Michael’s Church in Mondsee, which they used as the wedding church.
Your journey continues to Hallstatt via Bad Ischl and Bad Goisern. Having reached Hallstatt and the highlight of this full-day tour, your private guide will point out the must-sees of Hallstatt to you, which include a beautiful photo spot of Hallstatt, Charnel House (Bone House), Hallstatt Museum, Hallstatt Waterfall “Waldbachstrub”, Hallstatt’s local residence area and more. You will have 2 hours to explore Hallstatt and all these sites on your own as well as to have lunch in one of the great lakeside restaurants in Hallstatt (at your own expense).
After eight hours exploring one of Austria’s best sightseeing regions, your private tour will conclude with drop-off at your Salzburg city hotel.
You can cancel up to 48 hours in advance of the tour for a full refund. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the tour’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
