Meet your local professional guide at your Munich hotel and drive along some of Bavaria's most beautiful Alpine Landscapes as you always travel on scenic route from Munich to Salzburg. Your first stop will be in Bad Toelz.
From Bad Toelz the drive continues on scenic route to Berchtesgaden. The alpine village Berchtesgaden will offer you great opportunities to get some Bavarian specialty for lunch (own expense). Next is the drive to the Obersalzberg, the site of Hitler’s Berghof, his former mountain residence.
The entire Obersalzberg developed to a second area of power of the German Nazis during WW II. Get a first glimpse to the Eagle’s Nest which still sits there on a mountain peak high at an elevation of 6,017 feet (1,834 meters) above Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps. Explore the road from the 'Obersalzberg'to the Eagle's Nest bus terminal with special busses from where you will enter a 407 ft (124 m) long tunnel to reach the elevator to the Eagle’s Nest.
The Eagle's Nest wasn't damaged during the war, so it looks just like it did in WW II. The Eagle’s Nest today is a mountain restaurant. Taking the small path to the summit (about 10 min.) will be the highlight of your Eagle’s Nest experience.
Weather permitting, enjoy the very scenic view to the Bavarian Alps, the Austrian Alps, the King’s lake (Koenigssee) and the view to Salzburg.
From Nov to about May 10th (depends on the snow conditions of the year), the Eagle's Nest direct access road is closed, alternatively we offer to visit the Rossfeld summit instead.
