Tour Overview

Be ready for pickup at 10.00 am at your Salzburg hotel. Make yourself comfortable in your comfortable touring vehicle and experience the beautiful landscape that the famous ‘Salzkammergut’ lake region has to offer. After a short drive from Salzburg, you’ll reach the castle of Fuschl. Capture a picture of the castle of Fuschl with the emerald-green Lake Fuschlsee as its backdrop, before heading on to St. Gilgen with Lake Wolfgang, the next photo stop.

The next highlight is Wolfgang Lake and the village St. Gilgen. See the town center of St. Gilgen including the birthplace of Mozart’s mother and the main town square with the town hall.

Continue on your scenic route and capture a picture of St. Wolfgang from a great viewpoint before arriving at the next town, in Bad Ischl. The drive will take you through Bad Ischl, which is famous for the “Kaiser” (Emperor) Villa and the Café Zauner, and on to Bad Goisern and Hallstatt.

Having reached Hallstatt and the highlight of this full-day tour, your private guide will point out the must-sees of Hallstatt to you, which include a beautiful photo spot of Hallstatt, Charnel House (Bone House), Hallstatt Museum, Hallstatt Waterfall “Waldbachstrub”, the Sky View Platform, Hallstatt’s local residence area and more.

You will have plenty of time to see all the must-sees and hidden gems of Hallstatt as well as to have lunch in one of the great lakeside restaurants (at your own expense). From the old town, it is only a walk of 15 minutes to the funicular which brings you to the “World Heritage View” lookout platform which was officially dedicated in 2013 and has been a magnet for visitors from every corner of the globe ever since. The platform is 1150 feet above the rooftops of Hallstatt. Coming down with the funicular your private guide will wait for you at the bottom, go back on board of your luxury private vehicle and without any further walking, you will start your return drive to Salzburg via Gosau, Russbach, and Golling.

The platform is closed from 06.01.2020 until 01.03.2020 – during this time we’ll visit the Gosau Lake with Dachstein view instead.

After eight hours exploring one of Austria’s best sightseeing regions, your private tour will conclude with drop-off at your Salzburg city hotel.

Tripadvisor review
We were 6 person in the group booked a 8 person group van as there is no option available for 6. Patrick is a enthusiastic and cheerful guide cum driver who guided us to the best view points. First we visited Lake Fuschl see. This is the most beautiful lake we saw that day. The last stop was Hallstatt. This is the most popular lake. We roamed there for 3 hours before returning back to the Salzburg. One day is definitely not enough to see the lakes but if you have short stay and don’t want to miss the lake district, this is the perfect plan.
