Private Tour: Eagle's Nest and Hallstatt
UNESCO–listed Hallstatt and the Eagles’ Nest are widely considered among the Bavarian Alps top attractions, booking a private tour to the Eagle’s Nest and Hallstatt means you can make the most of your vacation time. You can cover lots of ground in just a day and focus on the highlights of the region that interest you.
The Eagle's Nest is not accessible from November 3rd, 2019 until about May 10th, 2020 (depends on the snow conditions of the year), alternatively we offer to visit the Rossfeld summit instead. From this vantage point, soak in panoramic views of the stunning Austrian and Bavarian Alps and the nearby Eagle's Nest. Feel free to choose this option also when Eagle's Nest is opened if you prefer a much less crowded, more local site than the Eagle's Nest.

Having a professional local guide and a luxury private vehicle ensures to save time and get the maximum out of a full-day private sightseeing tour to the Eagle's Nest and Hallstatt. Be ready for pickup at 9.00 am at your Salzburg hotel. Make yourself comfortable in your comfortable touring vehicle and experience the beautiful landscape that the famous ‘Salzkammergut’ lake region has to offer. After a short drive from Salzburg, you’ll reach the castle of Fuschl. Capture a picture of the castle of Fuschl with the emerald-green Lake Fuschlsee as its backdrop, before heading on to St. Gilgen with Lake Wolfgang.
After a photo stop overlooking the lake and St. Gilgen, continue to Hallstatt via Bad Ischl and Bad Goisern. Having reached Hallstatt and the first highlight of this full-day tour, your private guide will point out the must-sees of Hallstatt to you, which include a beautiful photo spot of Hallstatt, Charnel House (Bone House), Hallstatt Museum, Hallstatt Waterfall "Waldbachstrub", Hallstatt's local residence area and more. You will have 2 hours to explore Hallstatt and all these sites on your own as well as to have lunch in one of the great lakeside restaurants in Hallstatt (at your own expense).
The final part of this private tour will take you on scenic roads to Bavaria, Germany to the region named 'Obersalzberg'. From the Obersalzberg you will access the Eagle's Nest with special busses and an elevator. You will have 45 minutes at the Eagle's Nest. Take a stroll to the very close summit Kehlstein to overlook the picturesque Bavarian and Austrian Alps.
During the winter months, from November 1st, 2019 until about May 10th, 2020 (depends on the snow conditions of the year) you will discover the Rossfeld summit instead. After visiting the Obersalzberg region with Hitler's Berghof ruins, the bunkers at Hotel Zum Tuerken (private), and other WWII sites you will drive on a toll road to the 'Rossfeld'. At the Rossfeld Robert Wise was filming the hiking scene for the world-famous Sound of Music movie. In winter the return drive is past the Sound of Music opening scene hill back to Salzburg.
After 9 hours of exploring some of the best sightseeing regions of Austria and Germany, your private tour will conclude with drop-off at your Salzburg city hotel.
