Eagle's Nest and Berchtesgaden - Winter Version
In Winter the road up to the Eagle's Nest is closed,
but there is a great option which is accessible also
in winter. Instead of driving up the Eagles Nest Road,
the tour leads us up to the so called Rossfeld which
is about at the same elevation and offers a similar
view as you would have from the Eagle's Nest itself.
On a clear day there is a stupendous view to the very
close Eagle's Nest, the Bavarian Mountains and the
Salzburg Alps.
On the way down towards Berchtesgaden we´ll
stop at the "Obersalzberg" where the Germans
had an important headquarter in the second world war.
At the hotel "Zum Türcken" you´ve
the option to visit the Bunkers, which are originally
left there. Before returning to Salzburg we visit
the typical Bavarian Mountain town Berchtesgaden.
